Terms of Service

These Terms explain the conditions for using the Reliable Wizard Home Services website and submitting a service request.

Effective date:
November 1, 2026
Last updated:
November 1, 2026

Submitting a quote request does not create a service contract or guarantee service availability, pricing, scheduling or acceptance of the project.

About These Terms

These Terms apply to reliablewizard.ca and its quote-request, project-photo and service-inquiry features. Reliable Wizard Home Services (“Reliable Wizard”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Reliable Wizard Home Services Inc., carrying on business as Reliable Wizard Home Services. Reliable Wizard Home Services Inc. is an Ontario corporation.

By using the website, you accept the parts of these Terms that apply to website use. Any work we actually perform will be governed by separate project documentation, such as a written estimate, work order or service agreement.

Website Purpose

The website provides:

  • General information about Reliable Wizard
  • Descriptions of potential home services
  • A postal-code tool to begin a service-area inquiry
  • Project photographs and examples
  • Quote-request forms
  • Project-photo submission
  • Contact information

Website content is general information. It may not describe every condition affecting a particular home or project.

Eligibility and Authority

If you submit a request, you confirm that you:

  • Are legally capable of entering agreements
  • Are providing accurate information
  • Have authority to request work at the property
  • Have permission to upload any photographs or information you submit
  • Have obtained, or will obtain, any necessary permission from the owner, landlord, condominium corporation or other responsible party

Quote Requests Are Not Service Contracts

  • Submitting the quote form creates only a request for us to review.
  • The on-screen confirmation and reference number only confirm that your request was received and stored.
  • A reference number does not mean your project has been accepted or scheduled.
  • We may ask for more information, or decline a project.
  • Service availability must be confirmed separately. Entering or saving a postal code does not guarantee coverage.
  • Submitting the form does not authorize any work.
  • Submitting a request does not oblige you to hire Reliable Wizard.

A quote request is not a confirmed appointment, a binding estimate, a final price or a promise of any particular response time.

Estimates and Written Service Agreements

Some projects need an assessment before an estimate can be prepared. Unless clearly labelled otherwise, information on the website is not a binding estimate.

Project-specific work will be governed by the written estimate, work order or service agreement accepted for that project.

Accepted work may be documented in a separate written estimate, work order, service agreement, change order, invoice or payment schedule. A binding service arrangement exists only once you and Reliable Wizard agree to that written documentation.

Where required by applicable law, project documentation should identify matters such as:

  • The parties to the agreement
  • The property or service location
  • The scope of work and materials
  • The price and applicable taxes
  • Payment terms and any deposit
  • Scheduling information
  • Cleanup responsibilities
  • Any subcontracted work
  • Cancellation rights
  • Any warranty or callback terms

These website Terms do not replace a legally required written renovation or repair contract. Nothing in these website Terms removes your legal rights relating to written contracts or estimates.

Scope of Services

The website currently lists these service categories:

  • General Home Repairs
  • Drywall & Painting
  • Doors & Hardware
  • Mounting & Installation
  • Furniture Assembly
  • Property Maintenance
  • Deck & Fence Repairs
  • Pressure Washing
  • Small Renovations
  • Not Sure

These categories are general descriptions. Listing a category does not guarantee that every requested task will be accepted.

Regulated and Specialized Work

Some work may legally require a licensed trade, a building permit, municipal approval, condominium or landlord approval, or engineering or other professional review.

Reliable Wizard may decline work that falls outside its offered services, qualifications, insurance coverage, safe working conditions or legal authority.

Service Areas and Availability

Reliable Wizard generally serves selected communities throughout Ontario. Service availability is assessed individually based on the property location, travel distance, project requirements, scheduling, staffing and practical feasibility. Entering a postal code, submitting a quote request or receiving an initial response does not guarantee service availability. Reliable Wizard will confirm availability after reviewing the customer’s location and project details.

Customer Information and Communications

Please provide accurate and current information. We may contact you by the phone, text or email method you selected, about the project you requested.

Submitting a quote request is not consent to unrelated promotional marketing. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and project photos.

Project Photos

You may upload photos to help describe the work. By uploading them, you confirm that:

  • You have authority to share the photos
  • The photos relate to the requested project
  • The photos do not knowingly violate another person’s privacy or rights
  • You have avoided including unnecessary sensitive information

Submitting photos does not give Reliable Wizard permission to use them publicly for marketing, advertising, social media or portfolio purposes. Any public use requires your separate permission.

Appointments and Property Access

Once an appointment has been separately confirmed, you may be responsible for:

  • Providing safe and reasonable access
  • Ensuring an authorized adult is available when required
  • Identifying known hazards
  • Disclosing relevant property restrictions
  • Securing pets
  • Moving fragile or valuable items when reasonably requested
  • Ensuring utilities are available when needed
  • Providing parking or access information where relevant

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Customers may cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge by providing at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled arrival window.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests received less than 24 hours before the scheduled arrival window may be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

If a customer is unavailable, does not provide access to the property or is otherwise considered a no-show after Reliable Wizard has travelled to the property, a $75 attendance fee may apply.

If Reliable Wizard has purchased special-order or non-returnable materials with the customer’s authorization, the customer may also be responsible for the actual non-refundable cost of those materials.

Applicable fees will be disclosed during booking or in the written estimate, work order or service agreement. Reliable Wizard may waive a fee because of an emergency, severe weather or another reasonable circumstance.

This cancellation policy does not limit any cancellation, cooling-off or refund rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

Reliable Wizard may cancel or reschedule an appointment because of unsafe working conditions, severe weather, illness, material delays, emergencies or circumstances outside its reasonable control. Reliable Wizard will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer and arrange another suitable date.

Pricing, Deposits, Taxes and Payment

  • Website service descriptions do not set prices. Project pricing will be stated separately.
  • Applicable taxes may be added.
  • Deposits, payment milestones and due dates will be identified in project documentation.
  • Additional or changed work should be documented and approved by you before it proceeds, except when immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety and is legally permitted.
  • You should receive an updated price or change order when the scope changes.

A deposit is not required for every service. Where a deposit is required to reserve project time, the standard deposit will generally be 10% of the estimated project price. The exact deposit amount, payment deadline and refund conditions will be disclosed in the written estimate or service agreement before payment.

Projects involving special-order, customized or non-returnable products may require separate advance payment for those materials. Any such material payment will be itemized and approved by the customer in writing.

Deposits will be applied toward the final invoice. Unless otherwise required by law, a deposit may be retained only to the extent reasonably necessary to cover authorized work already performed, permitted scheduling losses or materials purchased for the project. Any remaining refundable amount will be returned to the customer.

Reliable Wizard will not require full payment of the entire project price before the work is completed unless the particular transaction legally permits it and the arrangement is clearly disclosed and agreed to in writing.

Reliable Wizard accepts Interac e-Transfer, credit card, debit card and other payment methods identified on the applicable estimate or invoice. Certified cheques, bank drafts or cash payments may be accepted when arranged in advance. A written receipt will be provided for cash payments.

Payment deadlines and any project payment schedule will be stated in the written estimate, work order, service agreement or invoice. Smaller services may require payment upon completion. Larger projects may use progress payments tied to defined project stages.

Customers should report disputed invoice items promptly so that Reliable Wizard can review them. Any interest, late-payment charge or administrative charge must be disclosed in the applicable written agreement before it is charged.

Customer-Supplied Materials and Products

If you supply furniture, fixtures, hardware, paint, mounting products or other materials:

  • You are responsible for confirming compatibility, completeness and the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • We may decline to install an item we believe is unsafe, defective, incomplete, inappropriate or incompatible.
  • Extra work caused by missing, defective or incompatible materials may require a revised scope and price.
  • Product warranties are subject to the manufacturer’s terms.

Existing Conditions and Unforeseen Issues

Hidden damage, unsafe wiring, plumbing conditions, mould, asbestos, structural defects, pest damage, code concerns or other concealed conditions may not be visible before work begins.

If an unforeseen condition affects safety, feasibility, price or schedule, work may pause while we discuss next steps with you. Additional work is not treated as automatically approved. Reliable Wizard does not provide environmental testing or engineering services.

Safety and Right to Decline Work

We may refuse, suspend or stop work when reasonably necessary because of:

  • Unsafe conditions
  • Harassment, threats or abusive behaviour
  • Illegal instructions
  • Hazardous materials
  • Inadequate access
  • Undisclosed risks
  • Work outside the agreed scope
  • Work requiring qualifications or permits not available for the project

Payment for properly completed work or non-returnable materials may still be addressed by the project agreement and applicable law.

Warranties and Service Concerns

Reliable Wizard provides a 90-day limited workmanship warranty beginning on the date the applicable work is substantially completed, unless a different warranty period is stated in the written estimate or service agreement.

Customers should report a possible workmanship concern as soon as reasonably possible and within the applicable warranty period. Reliable Wizard may request photographs, project information and reasonable access to inspect the reported concern.

If Reliable Wizard determines that the concern was directly caused by its workmanship and is covered by the warranty, Reliable Wizard will, at its option, correct the affected workmanship within a reasonable time and without an additional labour charge.

The workmanship warranty does not cover:

  • normal wear and tear;
  • accidental damage, misuse, abuse or neglect;
  • water intrusion, moisture, mould or pest damage;
  • structural movement or pre-existing property conditions;
  • products or materials supplied by the customer;
  • manufacturer or product defects;
  • inherent colour, texture or finish variations;
  • work changed, repaired or interfered with by another person;
  • issues outside the agreed project scope;
  • damage caused by a failure to follow care or maintenance instructions; or
  • temporary or emergency repairs identified as such in the written agreement.

Products and materials may be covered separately by their manufacturer’s warranty. Reliable Wizard does not provide a longer product warranty than the applicable manufacturer provides unless confirmed in writing.

Nothing in this warranty limits a customer’s rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

Website Accuracy and Availability

We try to keep the website accurate, but:

  • Services, content and availability may change.
  • Temporary technical interruptions may occur.
  • Website errors may be corrected.

Projects and Testimonials

Project photographs and examples are provided to illustrate the types of services offered or performed. Results vary depending on the property, materials, existing conditions, project scope and customer selections. Reliable Wizard will not knowingly present an illustrative, stock or generated image as verified customer work.

Reliable Wizard will publish reviews, testimonials or project examples as genuine customer experiences only when they are real and authorized.

Acceptable Website Use

You may not:

  • Submit false or misleading requests
  • Upload unlawful, harmful or unrelated content
  • Upload malware
  • Attempt unauthorized access
  • Interfere with the website or its security systems
  • Use automated systems to submit spam
  • Impersonate another person
  • Violate intellectual-property, privacy or other legal rights
  • Use the website for illegal purposes

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the website and its users.

Intellectual Property

The website’s original branding, logo, mascot, text, graphics, layout and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Reliable Wizard Home Services Inc., carrying on business as Reliable Wizard Home Services, except for identified third-party materials.

You may view the website for ordinary personal use. You may not reproduce, resell, modify or use Reliable Wizard branding commercially or in a misleading way without permission. Reliable Wizard does not claim ownership of photos you submit.

Third-Party Services and Links

The website relies on hosting, storage, font and communications providers, and may link to independently operated websites. Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right or remedy that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

Your rights for a particular project may depend on:

  • How and where the agreement was entered
  • The value of the agreement
  • The type of service
  • Whether the agreement was made online, at your home or elsewhere
  • Whether legally required information and documentation were provided

Disclaimers

Website information is provided for general information and inquiry purposes. Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibility for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot be excluded, personal injury or property damage where liability cannot legally be excluded, or breach of non-waivable consumer rights.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Reliable Wizard is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising solely from website interruption, misuse of the website, or reliance on general website content.

This limitation does not apply automatically to project work. Liability for an accepted project is addressed by the applicable service agreement and governing law.

Indemnity

Subject to applicable law, you are responsible for losses that result from your unlawful misuse of the website, your infringement of another person’s rights through content you submit, or knowingly false submissions.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, subject to any mandatory consumer rights.

If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can review it. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from going to court, filing a regulatory complaint or using any statutory remedy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the website, our business practices or legal requirements change, and will update the “Last updated” date when we do. Changes apply going forward unless applicable law permits otherwise. Where additional notice or consent is legally required for a material change, we will provide it.

Severability and No Waiver

If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Not enforcing a provision right away does not necessarily waive it.
