Privacy Policy

This policy applies to personal information collected through reliablewizard.ca, including quote requests, project-photo submissions, communications with us, and related home-service inquiries.

Reliable Wizard Home Services (“Reliable Wizard”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Reliable Wizard Home Services Inc., carrying on business as Reliable Wizard Home Services. Reliable Wizard Home Services Inc. is an Ontario corporation. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies.

Reliable Wizard is responsible for personal information under its control. We have designated a privacy contact who is accountable for our privacy practices.

Questions, access requests, correction requests, withdrawal-of-consent requests or complaints concerning personal information may be directed to Reliable Wizard’s Owner and Privacy Officer at privacy@reliablewizard.ca.

We collect only the information needed to understand and respond to your request.

• Full name
• Phone number
• Email address, when you provide it or choose email as your contact method
• Preferred contact method (phone, text or email)
• Your consent and accuracy confirmations, and when you gave them

Website and technical information

• Form details saved temporarily in your browser tab so you don’t lose your progress (see section 11)
• The date and time a request is submitted, and a one-time submission code used to prevent duplicate requests
• A scrambled (hashed) value created from your IP address, used only to limit repeated submissions and prevent spam; we do not store your IP address itself with your request
• Hidden anti-spam form fields that help identify automated submissions
• Standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and request time) that our hosting and cloud providers may record to operate and secure the website

We do not collect payment-card information through the website.

Project photos can reveal details about your home, property, belongings or surroundings. Please include only what helps us understand the work. Avoid uploading:

• Government identification
• Financial or medical records
• Images of children or of people unrelated to the project
• Visible passwords, alarm codes, keys or other sensitive information
• Anything unrelated to the requested project

Uploaded photos are used only to help us understand and respond to your service request. They are kept in private storage and are not intended to be publicly accessible. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Submitting a request does not guarantee service availability, an appointment, a price or a specific response time.

We ask for your consent when we collect personal information. The required confirmation boxes on the quote form record your agreement to be contacted about your request and your confirmation that the details are accurate.

Submitting a quote request is not consent to unrelated promotional marketing.

You may withdraw consent for optional uses at any time, subject to legal, contractual, safety and record-keeping limits. Withdrawing consent may mean we can’t respond to or complete your service request.

Service providers should receive only the information reasonably required for their role.

Lovable Cloud provides website hosting, server processing, the database used to store quote requests, and private storage for uploaded project photos. These services process information to receive, secure and manage your request. External image-hosting providers deliver the website’s public images and may receive standard connection information when those images load. Project photos you upload through the quote form are stored privately, not sent to the public image host.

Our service providers may process or store personal information in Canada or in other jurisdictions. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by its courts or authorities.

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and to meet legal, accounting, insurance, warranty, safety, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution requirements.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we securely delete, destroy or de-identify it, subject to backup and legal-retention limits.

No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Session storage

The website uses your browser’s session storage, which is kept only for the current browser tab and is cleared when you close it. We use it to:

• Remember a postal code you enter so it can carry into the quote form
• Carry details from the short project form into the quote form
• Keep your typed quote details and current step if you refresh the page
• Prevent the same request from being sent twice, and show your confirmation and reference number

This information stays in your browser and is not sent to us unless you submit a quote request. Selected photos are not saved in browser storage. After a successful submission, the saved form details are cleared.

Local storage and cookies

The public quote-request process uses session storage rather than local storage. The website’s authentication integration may use local storage for session information when an authenticated session is present. We do not set our own cookies for tracking, analytics or advertising. Our hosting and security providers may use strictly necessary technologies to deliver and protect the website.

Your choices

Because this storage is essential to the forms working properly, we don’t ask for separate consent. You can clear it at any time by closing the tab or clearing your browser’s site data.

The website does not currently use analytics tools, session-replay tools, behavioural advertising, third-party advertising trackers or automated decision-making to determine service availability.

Website fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser downloads them, Google receives standard technical information such as your IP address and browser details.

You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or raise questions or complaints. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing information.

Access may be limited where permitted or required by law, for example if disclosure would reveal another person’s personal information.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the privacy regulator in your province.

If we suspect a privacy breach, we will assess it and take reasonable steps to contain, investigate and respond to it. We will notify affected individuals and the appropriate privacy regulator when required by applicable law.

The website and our home services are intended for adults arranging services for a home or property. We do not knowingly seek personal information directly from children. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe a child has submitted information, please contact our privacy contact.

The website may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independently operated websites, so please review their policies.

We may update this policy as the website, our services, legal requirements or our information practices change. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. We will provide meaningful notice and obtain consent when legally required for significant new uses or disclosures.
